台風10号(ライオンロック)の影響で岩手県では11人が死亡、北海道では3人が行方不明となっている。NHKが報じた。

川が氾濫して浸水被害が出ている岩手県では、高齢者グループホームで9人の遺体が見つかった。目撃者情報によると、川の水位は短時間で約6メートルに達した。川岸でも男性1人の遺体が見つかった。

また久慈市では、住宅のがれきの中から女性の遺体が見つかった。北海道では3人の行方が分からなくなっている。

台風の影響により24時間で1カ月の平均雨量を上回る約300ミリの雨が降った。

岩手県と北海道では河川の氾濫や堤防の決壊が発生した。

31日午前から自衛隊が救助活動に加わった。

先に伝えられたところによると、台風10号の上陸が予想される東北地方では、920校が30日は臨時休校となった。
