米NASAが冬の火星の写真を公開【写真】

米航空宇宙局(NASA)は、火星探査機「マーズ・リコネッサンス・オービター(Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter)」が撮影した冬の火星の写真を公開した。

火星は気温の低下によって見た目が変わってくる。大気の炭酸ガスが乾燥した氷に変わり、火星表面を覆い、様々な模様が形成される。

「春」の訪れとともに火星の氷は割れ、蒸発を始め、再び姿を変えていく。なお南極の気温は低いままで、この地での「冬」は一年中続く。
